Qatar Advance Passenger Processing

The Government of Qatar is leading the initiative to adopt an Advance Passenger Processing (APP) service, which will allow the Government of Qatar to implement advance passenger screening for all passengers and crew travelling by air from/to and through Qatar.
The government of Qatar is focused on reducing the number of inadmissibles boarding flights to Qatar and has mandated that all airlines comply with the directive of becoming APP compliant. By working together with the Airlines, the Government of Qatar will reduce the administrative overheads associated with intervening at the point of entry and having to impose fines on airlines for allowing inadmissibles to arrive in Qatar.
Complying with this enhanced border control mandate will benefit airlines financially by avoiding fines and associated costs for allowing inadmissibles to arrive in Qatar as well as the additional penalties to be introduced for non-compliance.
Airlines may access the APP system across the worldwide airline network, using the existing Integrated APP and Stand-alone APP interfaces as currently used for existing APP countries. There are no significant changes to either of these interfaces.
Airlines may also submit transactions to the Qatar APP system through the Qatar Carrier Portal web site, which will have similar functionality to the services provided by Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. The portal will support submission of transactions for individual passengers or crew or batches of passengers or crew.
