Common Use Solutions compliant to IATA Standards
As a longtime IATA registered supplier, Materna IPS plays a significant role in defining the Common Use standards. Since 2000 Materna IPS is a reliable partner for many customers in the aviation industry. All our solutions are compliant to the relevant IATA Resolutions and Recommended Practices. In line with IATA OneID program, Materna IPS integrates biometric identification and authentication into most of the offered solutions.
Materna IPS Common Use Platforms and Applications
• CUSS (IATA Recommended Practice 1706c)
CUSS provides a runtime environment with standardized interfaces to access and control peripheral devices in a kiosk. Materna IPS is well-known for the in-house developed IPS CUSS platform and CUSS applications. The CUSS platform allows multiple airlines to share the same hardware and benefit from easy application integration and certification. Over the years the IPS CUSS platform has been integrated on hardware from IER, NCR and EMBROSS. IPS CUSS applications have proven their flexibility and reliability in many self bag drop and check-in installations worldwide.
• CUPPS (IATA Recommended Practice 1797)
CUPPS, as the only agent facing Common Use standard, enables an airline to process passengers using the same application on any CUPPS provider’s platform, eliminating the need to maintain multiple different terminal emulator applications. The IPS CUPPS solution as the platform for airport and airline systems is based on IATA, ACI and ATA standards, as well as industry best practices in general. The solution operates with traditional windows desktop computers and within a virtualized environment for thin client devices.
• CUWS (IATA Recommended Practice 1741)
The purpose of CUWS is to standardize data exchange between Common Use self-service bag drops and Departure Control Systems using web services technology. With the evolution of IATA One ID processes CUWS will deliver a new set of services throughout all passenger touchpoints, supporting biometric options. – Implementing an IPS Common Use Web Service allows customers to operate not only Materna IPS self bag drops but also the bag drop clients of other vendors, which often require a CUWS interface for their operation. IPS CUWS can also create a remarkable independence from DCS providers because smaller changes to the service usually do not require the involvement of the DCS providers.
CUSS & CUPPS Certifications and Trainings
Materna IPS offers certifications for airline applications to be operated on the IPS CUSS- and CUPPS platforms. The IPS certification lab provides you with a working environment with CUSS kiosks and CUTE/CUPPS workstations for a qualified certification experience. Certification is carried out in-house or remotely by experienced engineers. In addition to certifications we deliver comprehensive trainings especially designed for system administrators, system operators and support staff. Workshops and coaching provide the knowledge you need to operate your systems without any external help.
