The German Federal Police (BPOL) acting in accordance with section 31 a paragraph II BPOLG [German Federal Police Law] determines the data format and a backup solution in case of failure for the transfer of passenger data via remote data transmission. This determination is on the one hand generally effected in a description of interfaces and on the other hand explicitly in the authority orders according to section 31 a paragraph I BPOLG.
This document describes the interface of the passenger data file (PDD), via which the passenger lists (PAXLST) of aviation companies will be sent to the PDD. It serves as a mutually binding basis for the creation of the necessary infrastructures. The document essentially consists of three sections. In Chapter 2, the transfer process in general is described. In Chapter 3, the protocol and data formats are described, in which the PDD expects the passenger lists of the aviation companies. Chapter 4 introduces the specific parameters of the interface; these are first of all the e-mail addresses of the German Federal Police and the aviation companies which shall be used for remote data transmission.
